Default step in waltz

Best foot forward

We continue with our series on waltz. A nice step in waltz is a smooth and confident one,

PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT

The rise and fall is unique to waltz. If possible, all the steps in waltz should be long. In the first step forward, the weight is taken on the heel, then shifted to the ball of the foot. A gradual rise of the toes should be started at the end of the first beat, and continued to the second and third beat of each bar of music. Lower to the normal position at the end of the third beat by lowering to the heel of the foot, which is carrying the weight. Among advanced dancers, the basic step drives aggressively and is reaching in nature. A nice step is a smooth, confident, reaching step.

Count - ---- Men's Part------------ Women''s Part

1 -----------Left foot Forward ------ Right foot back
2 -----------Right foot side ----------Left foot side
3 -----------Left foot close ----------Right foot Close
4 -----------Right foot forward -------Left foot back
5 -----------Left foot side ------------Right foot side
6 -----------Right foot close ----------Left foot close
