Shirval- First eye witness of Shivaji's battle It was live performance on stage of life. Background was dark nights,open sky.He had just started his career. His father was trapped at Bijapur far away from Home. So it his was his first entry in live performance. Squad was approching him to trap him also and that squad had occupied back some of his place. Now he was going to perform like what in modern days we call first day first show.He selected his hero of drama, sub-actors were ready. all where young, do not had anything with them except their will power and they put their first entry. They started ...they started....they started...they entered on stage.... And friends they wonned...they came.. they did.. and they wonned... it was great shock of loss to oppsite team. Youngsters were made successful entry on stage of life or death. Yes the first battle of `Shree nche Rajya' had taken colors at Shirval. After Shivaji maharaj's `bund' in Pune area, Bijapur militry was running to teach him not do such things again. Accordingly they had taken back surrounding area including Shirval. Raje shifted his stay to Purandar. And one day he asked his young friends to perform live performance and the show got much more success. Shirval Gadhi or Bhuikot, just about 50 km from Pune side on Pune - Satara road. Shirval Gadhi EYE WITNESS OF FIRST BATTLE OF SWARAJ. Bedar Adilshah appointed 4 subhedar and instructed them to manage their respective area. Accordingly Subhedar of Hyderabad sent Adilkhan and created thane at Shirval in shake 1383 (1461AD) Later in shake 1392 (1470AD) started work of construction of ground fort with suitable place of Chitrabet at Shirwal. It was the only fort whos name was decided before starting construction - Kille Subhanmangal. But the work continued not only for 10-20 years but 45 years and finally in 1437 (1515AD). After that first Subhedar / Killedar was appointed from Hyderabad.

Since Shake 1438 to 1632 total 15 subhedar rulled over Shirwal. Once
it was also part of Afzalkhan's Wai teritory. In shake 1633 control came to Jankoji Naik Nimbalkar. This small fort / gadhi always remained in hands of Vijapur / Moghal. May be because of which in Shake 1642 ( 1720AD) Chhatrapati Shahu ordered Balaji Peshwa to capture the gadhi and destroy the same. and Balaji Peshwa did so. and then it was the end of one `Vastu' which experianced live performance of first battle of Swaraj. Fort was bounded by Shirval village in south, Nira River in north, Manda devi and Odha in east and rameshwar temple of west. It is long in E-W direction and width in N-S direction. What is the current situation - nothing - plain land having garbej, shrubs, man-made kachara. ACTUALLY IT SHOULD BE MADE MEMORIAL BUT..BUT WE CAN NOT DO WITH THIS..WE CAN ONLY SEE AT PRATAPGAD AND ... The only buruj standing till date, is now wish to rest in hands of Dharatimata. The only small temple built with fort is now awaiting for if any visitors comes and offer flower may be of his swet. If you plan to visit this place dont expect anything much. While going / coming back from any fort of wai area, raireshwar, satara etc. you can visit place. walkable distance from Shirwal ST Stand. Summary Fort built with predecided name Taken allmost 45 years to construct First battle of Shivaji and first victory One of the fort which were under maratha control for short time
